About Ms. Hiedeman

My name is Ms. Jessica Hiedeman, and I am so excited to teach third and fourth grade again this year! I have been teaching at Herman-Norcross Community School for my entire career starting in the fall of 2009, which means this is my ninth year teaching. This is my fifth year teaching third and fourth grade. It is amazing how many new things there are to learn each year!

Before coming to Herman-Norcross, I earned my Bachelor of Science from Minnesota State University Moorhead (Go Dragons!) in Elementary Education with emphasis areas in Communication Arts and Literature (grades 5 through 8) and Preprimary (ages 3 through preschool). Also, in the last few years I earned my Master of Arts from Concordia University St. Paul in Educational Technology. I am always looking for ways to increase my own learning as well as students' learning.

Before attending college, I graduated high school from Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley in 2004. I grew up and lived on a farm near Beardsley, MN with my parents and four younger siblings (Mike, Stacy, Matt, and Carrie). I have always loved living in the country, so two years ago I purchased my very own place near Wheaton, MN. I love being outside and working on the lawn, garden, or flowerbeds. I also enjoy running, reading, and playing sports. I even have seven nieces and nephews I get to spoil and play with!

I can't wait to start the new school year and grow with my students!
